Gonçalo Marcelo holds an undergraduate degree in Philosophy (2007) and a PhD in Moral and Political Philosophy (2014) from NOVA University in Lisbon. Since 2019 he is a junior researcher (DL57/2016 'norma transitória') hired by the Centre for Classical and Humanistic Studies (CECH), Faculty of Arts and Humanities, University of Coimbra, and in that capacity he lectures in the Department of Philosophy, Communication and Information, and is a member of the Executive Board of the CECH. His main research interests are in the fields of Social and Political Philosophy, Ethics, Hermeneutics, and Critical Theory. He is editor of the Ricoeuriana book series (Coimbra University Press).
